What is the yield in mineral processing?

In mineral processing, "yield" refers to the percentage or proportion of valuable minerals recovered from the ore during the processing stages. It is a key performance indicator for assessing the efficiency and effectiveness of the extraction process. Yield is often calculated by comparing the mass of the concentrated product with the mass of the initial feed material. High yield indicates that a larger amount of the desired mineral has been successfully extracted, while low yield suggests inefficiencies or losses in the process.
